Learn importance of listening to ragas at particular time through Indian Music Academy


Traditional school of Indian Classical Music is based on the seven swaras using which are formed different ragas. Most of these ragas are inspired by the nature and its beauty and are listened in particular season or during a specific time of the day or night. Listening to these ragas in the season to which they are devoted makes you understand the true beauty and magic of the various ragas and their effectiveness. Disciples belonging to Indian Music Academy are taught about these nuances of Indian Classical Music with great intensity and depth so that they can create the same atmosphere through their music when they start performing professionally in the world.    

Ragas according to seasons
  
There are many ragas that are specifically dedicated to particular time of the day or seasons. During summer season, raga Dipak is most commonly sung. Similarly, in Monsoon, raga Megh, Raga Bhairav in autumn, Raga Malkauns in winter and during Spring Raga Hindol are preferably sung as the musical notes of these ragas gel well with the effect of atmosphere created during these seasons.  

Ragas according to time of day and night

Some of the ragas that are sung during the early half of the morning -6-9 a.m. are Shuddh Bilawal, Alahya Bilawal, Kukubh Bilawal, Shukla Bilawal, Sarpada and Gunakali and more.  Ragas that are sung during 9 a.m. - 12 noon include most of the Todi ragas such as Miyan-ki-Todi, Asawari, Sindh Bhairavi, Gurajari Todi, Kafi Raga, Sur Malhar raga, Deshkar raga and so on.
